Behind every pair of hopeful eyes is a story waiting to be rewritten.
Who runs Pawmise?
Our team is made up of passionate high school students and volunteers between the ages of 12 and 18. We work closely with local shelters, community members, and animal welfare groups to make a real difference.
How can I help?
You can join our volunteer team! We welcome youth volunteers for roles in outreach, social media, event organization, and fundraising. Check our Get Involved section for current opportunities & join our Discord for frequent updates!
Why focus on shelter pets?
Shelter pets are frequently excluded from discussions about social issues, largely because they remain out of sight and therefore out of mind. Centering them in the conversation highlights our responsibility to advocate for these vulnerable animals and to ensure they receive humane, consistent, and compassionate care.
How can my shelter or organization partner with you?
We welcome partnerships with shelters, rescue groups, and community organizations who share our commitment to supporting displaced animals. To partner with us, simply reach out through our contact form or email us directly. Once we hear from you, our team will follow up to learn about your needs and explore how we can support you through fundraising, donations, awareness campaigns, or volunteer initiatives.
Our team of 16 students came together with a simple belief: every animal deserves safety, dignity, and a chance at a loving home.We started Pawmise after learning how many shelters in our community are under-resourced and overwhelmed. As young people who care deeply about animal welfare, we wanted to take action—not someday in the future, but right now. Since launching, we've organized our first community fundraiser and successfully raised $500 to support local shelters in Toronto. Our mission is to provide meaningful, youth-powered support to animals in need through fundraising, donations, partnerships, and advocacy. We aim to make it easier for shelters to continue their life-saving work, while empowering young people to become compassionate leaders in their communities. We believe that small actions, led with intention, can create real impact.
And this is just the beginning.Pawmise — youth voices, real change, brighter futures for animals.
